Fellow Porter Pilots,

This week, your interim Master Executive Council (MEC) has continued to work with ALPA and Porter management to ensure a smooth transition. Our communications with management remain positive, and we are encouraged by their desire for a collaborative relationship as we move toward negotiations.

Reaching Your MEC Representatives: POEMEC@alpa.org

Now that we have introduced your interim MEC representatives, we want to ensure all Porter pilots know how to reach us.

You can contact the full body of MEC representatives at POEMEC@alpa.org. Individual email addresses are available on our MEC website at poe.alpa.org/Contact.

We represent all Porter pilots fairly, regardless of membership status. If you need assistance with any safety, security, FOAG, or pilot wellness concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out. If you encounter an issue at work where you feel you need help, contact any of us on the interim MEC. We have a team of dedicated legal advisors, and legal representation is available instantly.

Up Next: MEC Leadership & Committees

The interim MEC, made up of captain and first officer representatives, will elect a temporary MEC Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary-Treasurer. All Porter pilots who are active ALPA members in good standing are eligible to run for these positions. You can submit your expression of interest to your status representative. The interim MEC will meet this Saturday to hold the elections.

Here’s how the nominations work - Only current MEC representatives can nominate someone for an officer position. However, if you're an active member, you can express your interest in running by contacting your status representative.

Once the temporary MEC officers are elected, the full MEC will establish and staff MEC Committees. We have several committees ready to get started but are looking for more volunteers. Your help is crucial to our success. If you're interested in serving your fellow pilots on committees (e.g., Safety, Negotiating) or as a representative, please email Michael Falk to express your interest.

Get Your Membership Card

Your voice is vital, but you must be a member to fully participate in ALPA’s elections, surveys, and governance.

Those of you who filled out a membership card during the organizing campaign are now official ALPA members. If you did not sign a membership card during the organizing campaign and haven’t completed the ALPA membership application yet, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible by clicking the following link or going to ALPA’s webpage (ALPA’s webpage):

Page-One

Since the CIRB process is complete, there is no longer a $5 fee to sign up.

Without a signed membership card, you will not be able to:

  • Vote on temporary agreements.
  • Elect permanent MEC members or nominate yourself for a leadership role.
  • Participate in important surveys.
  • Access the full suite of member benefits and insurance programs.

It is in the best interest of all pilots to join us and help create a united front. We encourage those of you who are new to unions to learn more by contacting one of us or checking out our updated FAQ page. ALPA is a pilot-run, staff-supported organization, and we are very encouraged by what we have seen so far.

In unity,

Your Porter Airlines MEC
