Fellow Porter Pilots,

It's been a month since we started collecting cards, and the progress we've seen is impressive. Thank you for your continued support and let us know if you'd like to join the effort.

Save the date: our next all-pilot call will be March 17, 2025 @ 1:00 PM EDT. Stay tuned for more information about how to call in and let us know if there’s anything you would like to discuss.

If you've already signed a card, thank you! If you haven’t, here’s how you can show your support:
  • Find a member of the Porter OC for a card (see locations here), fill it out, and hand it back to them (along with the $5 fee required by law)
  • Download a card from the Porter OC website, fill it out, and hand it to a member of the Porter OC
  • Download a card from the Porter OC website, fill it out, and mail it in to ALPA (please no coins)
Following the recent Endeavor Air accident in Toronto, ALPA deployed significant resources to support the crew and investigation. ALPA pilots from Air Canada and Jazz deployed to Pearson immediately after the landing to ensure that the crew was taken care of and was provided with Critical Incident Response Program (CIRP) resources. Given that the crew's possessions were left on board the aircraft, ALPA purchased the crew clothing, toiletries and other necessities while getting them into accommodations and protecting them from the media. ALPA provided hands-on legal support (both Canadian and US lawyers) for the crew as their management and government officials started the interview and investigatory process.

Thereafter, ALPA has defended the pilots against hateful speculation from the public.  Additionally, ALPA's investigative team, including staff from ALPA's Engineering & Air Safety Department, has been assisting the Transportation Safety Board of Canada's investigation as an adviser to the National Transportation Safety Board.

If this happened to us as Porter pilots, what would you do?

What resources do we have to support a crew during such an event?

Now more than ever, we believe our pilot group needs to be part of an international union. We believe that it's time for Porter pilots to join ALPA as a single unified pilot group. Our names and contact information are below. Please call, email, or talk to one of us when you see us out flying the line.

We appreciate all of your support!

"I could see that unless we got a pilots’ association with real power, there wouldn’t be enough money in airline flying to make it worth my effort. I would have to go back to slipsticking at a desk, and I didn’t want that; I wanted to keep flying.”
