Porter Pilots: Upcoming Informational Meetings

Join your Interim MEC and ALPA staff for a series of informational meetings. This is a crucial opportunity to connect with your status representatives, learn more about your ALPA benefits and resources, and get a clear picture of the direction we're heading in as we prepare for collective bargaining.

Each meeting will feature presentations from the MEC and ALPA staff, with ample time for questions and answers. Your Interim MEC is committed to keeping you informed and ensuring a transparent process.

Meeting Schedule

  • Monday, September 8th - Thunder Bay
  • Wednesday, September 10th - Vancouver
  • Friday, September 12th - Ottawa
  • Saturday, September 13th - Montreal
  • Sunday, September 14th - Halifax
  • Thursday, September 18th - Toronto (ALPA Canada Event)
  • Friday, September 19th - Toronto (YTZ)
  • Saturday, September 20th - Toronto (YYZ)

Get Your Membership Card 

To be eligible for voting, elections, survey, and many ALPA resources, you must be a member of ALPA. Many of you are already official members if you completed a card during the organizing campaign. 

If you haven't yet, we encourage you to apply for membership as soon as possible by clicking the link provided below. There is no longer a sign-up fee. Without a signed membership card, you will not be able to vote on temporary agreements, elect or be nominated for leadership roles, participate in surveys, or access member benefits and insurance programs.

    Yesterday, we officially started the bargaining process for our first collective agreement by filing notice to bargain with Porter management under the Canada Labour Code.

    POE Pilot Update 9/10/2025

    Today, your MEC in coordination with ALPA staff, filed notice to bargain under the Canada Labour Code, formally notifying Porter management of our intention to commence negotiations for our first collective agreement. Although meetings with management are not expected to start for a few months, as per Canada Labour Code section 50 (b), this notice was filed to maintain the current statutory freeze over our working conditions.

    The first of our informational meetings with the Interim MEC and ALPA staff was a great success! Following that momentum, the series of meetings continues tomorrow. Pilots from all bases are welcome to attend any of the scheduled meetings.
